Flex Software Marketing

Thanks to Motorola Solutions’ focus on innovation and the development of an ecosystem of security solutions, our global design team was frequently called to develop new, on-brand designs for acquired company materials.

The Flex suite of software comprised an extensive set of features and software properties designed to be marketed to public safety command centers. I was responsible for creating and implementing a new design system and set of templates to bring the Flex resources into the Motorola Solutions brand and empower consistency for future designs.

Consistency

It was important that the Flex marketing materials followed the overarching Motorola Solutions brand standards but remained recognizable as their own product brand family. A clear and consistent layout system enables customers to jump easily between feature technologies and know exactly where to find the information they need.

Functionality

After a content assessment of all 20 legacy fact sheets, I worked with the product marketing team to determine which information and design elements were essential to bring to the new layout. Some documents contained 1 page of content and some contained 2 or more — based on this, I created clearly-labelled template references to help future designers easily select the layout that fits their document best.
